Welcome to the Wish Upon a Crane Challenge!

1 record, 2 record breakers!

10 paper cranes folders (as young as 8 years old) created history on 12 Oct at the Abacus Labs, Curtin University of Technology.

Congratulations to Hiromi Ashlin from Broome, who smashed the GUINNESS WORLD record for "fastest time to make 100 cranes" in 1 hr 14 mins 25 secs. The existing record is 1 hr 38 mins 36 secs.

We also had Keiko Kokofu who was closely behind Hiromi, breaking the record with ease in 1 hr 22 mins 10 secs!

The strings of paper cranes exhibited along the entire stretch of Sir Charles Court Promenade also gained tremendous support from well wishers. An estimated 5000 over paper cranes have been sold. Strings of paper cranes and T-shirts are still available for sale. All proceeds go to the Leukaemia Foundation.

Thank you to all participants and contributors to the Wish Upon a Crane Guinness World Challenge! There will also be a prize giving ceremony on the 7th November, 2007.

The documentation will be filed to the Guinness World Records to be officially published in the book of records in the next two weeks.

Watch this space for more pictures, interviews and other exciting updates!
